William L. Clark

William L. “Bill” Clark, 92, of Charlotte, died Wednesday, May 23, at CMC-Pineville.
A funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, May 31, at St. Peter Church, 507 South Tryon St., Charlotte, Interment will be private, at Pinelawn Memorial Park, in Southern Pines.
He was born in Oklahoma City, son of Harry Hayes Clark and Ruth Lambert Clark. He graduated from Garden City High School, Garden City, N.Y., and Lehigh University with a B.S. in business administration in 1942, and then served as an officer in the U.S. Army.
Bill then began a professional career in the pharmaceutical and medical device industries, serving in a variety of sales, marketing and management positions, retiring as a group vice president for Becton Dickinson. He resided in Darien, Conn., Smoke Rise, N.J., and Pinehurst before living for the last 12 years at The Cypress in Charlotte.
Bill was predeceased by his wife of 60 years, Patricia Braden Clark; his brother and two sisters. He is survived by daughter Patricia C. Haberstroh and husband, Charlie, of Westport, Conn.; three sons, William L. Clark Jr. and wife, Sue, of Smoke Rise, N.J., Hayes B. Clark and wife, Clare, of Westport, and Robert S. Clark and wife, Debbie, of Pineville; 10 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and by his dear friend, Marguerite Wittebort.
