Edward R. Wagner

Edward Robert Wagner, 97, passed away on Friday, May 18, 2012, at the C.C. Young Retirement Community, in Dallas.
Fowler Funeral Home, Brockport, N.Y., will conduct the funeral service and burial at a later date. Burial will be in Mount Olivet Catholic Cemetery in Brockport.
Ed was born Nov. 7, 1914, in Brooklyn, N.Y., to the late Joseph Wagner and Eugenia (Baranovska) Wagner. He married Mary Elizabeth (Lockwood) Wagner on Aug. 5, 1939. He was an undergraduate of the University of Oklahoma and post-graduate of the University of Buffalo, N.Y.
After serving as a liaison officer to the French Army and commanding a U.S. Army Field Artillery Battery during World War II, Ed was a resident of Brockport, N.Y., where he taught mathematics at Brockport High School and later accepted employment at the Eastman Kodak Company in Rochester, N.Y. Upon retiring from the Eastman Kodak Company, Ed and his beloved Mary lived in Pinehurst.
Edward was predeceased by his wife of 70 years, Mary; and by his son, Midshipman E. Robert Wagner Jr., United States Naval Academy, 1964. He is survived by his daughters, Carolyn Wagner Ellman, of Rochester, and Jocelyn Wagner Sodoma and husband, Randy, of Fort Wright, Ky.; son Richard Cameron Wagner and wife, Susan Anne Stryker, of Dallas; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Lakeside Memorial Hospital, 156 West Ave., Brockport, N.Y 14420.
Sparkman/Hillcrest Funeral Home, Dallas, is serving the family locally.
