Merriman Thomas “Tommy” Salmon Jr., 74, of Carthage, died Saturday, May 19, 2012, at FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital, in Pinehurst.
Funeral services were held at 5 p.m.Tuesday, May 22, at Good News Community Church, in Carthage, with the Rev. Jim Boyte officiating. Entombment will follow in the Mausoleum at Lee Memory Gardens, in Sanford. The family received friends from 3 to 5 p.m. Tuesday at the church.
Born Aug. 4, 1937, in Moore County, he was a son of the late Merriman Thomas Salmon Sr. and Lena Davis Salmon.
Tommy was the owner and operator of Salmon Motors, a member of Good News Community Church, and was a generous man and loving father.
He is survived by his children, Rhonda, Jill, and Ray; two brothers, Billy and Joseph; seven grandchildren; and five great grandchildren.
