Betty McLaughlin Lyons

Betty McLaughlin Lyons passed away peacefully Thursday, May 10, 2012, at the Health Center of St. Joseph of the Pines.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, June 2, at the chapel at Belle Meade Retirement Resort.
Born Nov. 25, 1923, in Paterson, N.J., Betty worked as a real estate secretary until the birth of her son, when she became a loving and caring mother and homemaker. A long-term resident of Ridgewood, N.J., Betty was a member of the Junior Women’s Club, the Valley Hospital Auxiliary, and served as chairman of the Paramus (N.J.) Women Golfers.
An avid bridge player and golfer, Betty and her husband, Al, retired to Pinehurst in 1986, where Betty belonged to the Pinehurst Country Club’s Women’s Golf Association and served as chairman of their Birdies group.
Betty is survived by her husband of 66 years, Albert E. Lyons; and her son, James A. Lyons and his wife, Tammy, of Charlotte.
