It is with saddened hearts that the family of Mrs. Elizabeth (Betty) Gregory announce her passing on Saturday, May 5, 2012.
The funeral services were held from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, May 8, at Higgins Funeral Home, in New City, N.Y. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, May 9, at St. Anthony’s Shrine Church, in Nanuet, N.Y.
She was born and raised in Bronx, N.Y., by her grandparents Mr. and Mrs. Louis Nadeau. She was a graduate of Christopher Columbus High School and a former employee of Fordham University. She was a Nanuet resident before retiring with her husband to Pinehurst in 1992.
Betty was an active member of St. Anthony’s Parish and school, Mother Sodality, Rotaryannes, Columbiettes, and a member of the Adoration Society of Sacred Heart Church in Pinehurst. She was a world traveler, an avid reader, a bridge player and for the last 40 years of her life, a golfer.
She was a loving wife, mother, grandma, woman of unwavering faith, and she was one heck of a little lady. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
She is survived by her loving husband of 60 years, Joe Gregory; and their children, Joseph, of Monroe, N.Y., Michael, of Nanuet, John, of Haverstraw, N.Y., and Mary Seewald, of Monroe; daughters- in-law, Suzanne and Kathryn; son-in-Law, William Seewald; grandchildren, Brianna, Jessica, Geena, Lyndsay, Katie, William and Julia; her sister, Evelyn Bonaviso, of California; and her brother, William Sidotti, of Hawaii.
The family would like express their heartfelt gratitude to the staff at Orange Regional Medical Center for their compassion and loving care provided to Betty in her final days.
