Lib Laswell Whitesides, 91, of Pinehurst, died Monday, April 23, 2012, at Magnolia Gardens Assisted Living.
A memorial service was held at 1 p.m. Saturday, April 28, at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, New Smyrna Beach, Fla. Burial followed at Edgewater-New Smyrna Cemetery.
Born in Woodville, Fla., she was a graduate of Altamont Springs (Fla.) High School. She was co-owner and operator of Mike & Lib’s Grill for more than 25 years, and a member of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in New Smyrna Beach for more than 50 years.
Survivors include one son, Mike Laswell, of Pinehurst; two daughters-in-law, Pam Booth Laswell, of Pinehurst, and Dottie Laswell, of Edgewater, Fla.; three grandchildren, Beth Schinstock, of Annandale, Va., Kim Mackey, of Vass, and Holly Diaz, of Edgewater, Fla.; and six great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Mike Laswell Sr.; a son, Bill Laswell; and her second husband, Bob Whitesides.
