Claudia “Dee” Bilodeau, 79, of Pinehurst, passed away Sunday, April 29, 2012, at her home.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, May 2, at Boles Funeral Home, in Pinehurst. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, May 3, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
She was born Sept. 21, 1932, in Oradell, N.J., to the late Wilfred K. and Claudia Conover. Following high school she attended the Berkeley School of Secretarial Training in New York and later became an executive secretary at General Motors for eight years.
She and her husband retired to Pinehurst in 1986, where they became active in the community. She served as secretary and later member of the board for the Pinehurst Country Club. She also served as a member of the BS Chapter of PEO and was a member and past president of the Silver Foils. Dee was a parishioner of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, where she was part of the church’s K of C Auxiliary. She enjoyed tennis and was an avid golfer, achieving four holes-in-one.
She is survived by her devoted husband of 58 years, Robert Bilodeau; loving children Paul Bilodeau and his wife, Karen, of Sparta, Mich., and Susan Groce, of Waxhaw; one brother, Richard Conover, of Pennsylvania; one sister, Violet Selzer, of Ohio; and two grandchildren, Owen Groce and Adam Bilodeau.
