Henry O. Dunbar
Henry Osborne Dunbar, 91, of Swansea, died Thursday, March 22, 2012, at Agape Harbison Assisted Living Facility, in Irmo, S.C.
A private memorial service was held Saturday, March 25, at Swansea United Methodist Church. Interment will follow at a later date in Kempton, Ill.
Mr. Dunbar was born Aug. 13, 1920, in Pantego, the son of Dallas and Ada Dunbar. He served in United States Air Force during World War II.
He graduated North Carolina State University in 1949. He was a member of Brownson Memorial Presbyterian Church in Southern Pines. He was retired from Wachovia Bank and Trust Company and First Federal Savings and Loan.
Survivors include his children, Donna Gray and husband, Larry, of Haymarket, Va.; Dianne Abene and husband, Pete, of Plano, Texas; Debbie Riley and husband, Gregg, of Swansea, and Henry O. Dunbar Jr. and wife, Ellen, of Buies Creek; nine grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and sisters, Hazel Ange, of Raleigh, and Virginia Tetterton, of Plymouth. He was preceded in death by his wife of 65 years, Estella Lowe; his parents; and his brother, Leon.
