Marsha Kennedy, 47, passed away Wednesday, March 21, 2012, at Forsyth Medical Center, surrounded by her family.
A funeral service was held at 2 p.m. Saturday, March 24, at Salem Funeral Home, Winston-Salem. Entombment followed at Forsyth Memorial Park. A visitation was held from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, March 23, at the funeral home.
Mrs. Kennedy was born Feb. 16, 1965, to Mrs. Linda Flynn and father Harold Eckersley in Pinehurst. She graduated from East Forsyth High School in 1983, and then earned a degree in early childhood development from Forsyth Tech. Mrs. Kennedy worked at Clemmons Moravian teaching children. She was a devoted wife, mother, loving grandmother and friend. She was also an absolute animal lover!
She was preceded in death by her mother-in-law, Pam Kennedy; grandparents, Bernard and Hazel Williamson; and three uncles. She is survived by her husband, Kevin Kennedy; a daughter, Lynette Kennedy; a special grandson, Jase Orrell; a son, Chris Kennedy; her mother, Linda Flynn; an Uncle Don and Aunt Eve Williamson, and their children Mathew, Lindsey and Leanne; father-in-law, Jack Kennedy, of Pfafftown; brother- in-law, Craig Kennedy; sister-in-law, Dalene Kennedy; a half brother, Timothy Eckersley, of Southern Pines; and a lifelong friend, Tonya Brooks. She was blessed with a large family of nieces, nephews, and cousins that she was very close with.
