Bill David Key, 79, died Wednesday, March 21, 2012, at FirstHealth Hospice House, in Pinehurst, surrounded by his family.
Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Friday, March 23, at First Wesleyan Church, Robbins, with the Rev. Sam Swinney officiating. Burial will follow in Pine Rest Cemetery. The family received friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, March 22, at Kennedy Funeral Home, in Robbins, and at other times at the home.
Mr. Key served in the United States Navy and was the owner and operator of Bill Key Heating and Air Conditioning. He was a son of the late William Henry and Thelma McCaskill Key and was preceded in death by son, David Key, and brother, Leroy Key.
Bill is survived by his wife, Betty Hussey Key, of Robbins, with whom he would have celebrated 60 years of marriage on April 26, 2012; daughters, Pam Allen, of Toccoa, Ga., and Patricia Medlin, of Southern Pines; five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; brother, Paul Key, of Robbins; and sister, Virginia Trueblood, of Cameron.
