William "Bill" Rupcich
William “Bill” Rupcich, 85, passed away Saturday, Feb. 18, 2012, in Decatur, Ga.
A memorial service will be held at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, March 20, at Annunciata Church, 11128 Ave. G, Chicago.
Bill was born Jan. 13, 1927, in Chicago. He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 62 years, June Lee, in 2009; and parents Peter and Catherine Rupcich.
Bill served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He and June were longtime residents of Chicago’s East Side and moved to Pinehurst in 1999. He was a co-owner of Rupcich Restaurant and worked for his father at Peter Rupcich and Sons Schlitz Beer Distributing. He was an avid Chicago Bears and Blackhawks fan.
Children: Bonnie (Gary) Nakashian, of Stone Mountain, Ga.; Robert (Patricia) Rupcich, of Princeton, Ill.; Holly (late Patrick) McHale, of St Cloud, Fla.; Dawn Rupcich (Nancy Rodgers), of St. John, Ind.; and Steven Rupcich, of Denver. Brothers: late Joseph (late Dorothy), late John (Dorothy), and Lawrence “Goggie” (late Marce) Rupcich. Fond brother-in-law of Robert and Loretta Papan, late Dan and late Carol Pacheco, Bill and late Ginny Krohn, Bob and Jill Krohn, Larry Krohn, and Phil and Linda Mortimer. grandchildren: William, Charles and Nick Rupcich; and numerous nieces, nephews and great-grandchildren.
