Pearl Ellen Jones Frye, 72, of Carthage, passed Thursday, Feb. 29, 2012, at her residence.
A funeral service will be held at 4 p.m. Saturday, March 3, at Yates-Thagard Baptist Church, in Carthage, with the Rev. Steve Johnson officiating. Burial will follow in the Summer Hill Baptist Church Cemetery, in Carthage. Visitation will be held from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday, March 2, at Boles Funeral Home, in Southern Pines.
Mrs. Frye was born Dec. 2, 1939, in Beckley, W.Va., to the late Cecil Ervin Jones and Naomi Lois Cook Jones.
She is survived by three sons, Marshall Frye, of Carthage, Eugene Frye, of Gainesville, Ga., and Davin Frye and wife, Stephanie, of Southport; four daughters, Phyllis Garner, of Carthage, Karen McKenzie and husband, Darrell, of Carthage, Grace Jones and husband, Jim, of Aberdeen, and Lois Connor and husband, Michael, of Jackson Springs; 19 grandchildren; and eight great grandchildren.
Mrs. Frye was preceded in death by her husband, Ferman Frye; a brother, George A. Jones; and a sister, Sharon Elaine Murray.
