Robert B. Allen

Robert B. Allen, of Seven Lakes, passed away Monday, June 25, 2012, at Manor Care.
Bob was born Aug. 29, 1936, in Conneaut, Ohio, to M. Blair and Margaret Cassady Allen. He graduated from high school in Frankfort, Ind., in 1954, where he was a member of the golf team.
He attended Purdue University, graduating with a degree in civil engineering. As a member of the golf team, he played for the Boilermakers for two years. After graduation, he went to work for the metal products division of Armco Steel Corporation in Middletown, Ohio. He was transferred to Albany, N.Y., where he lived and worked until his retirement in 1993 as a senior sales engineer. The division was renamed Contech Construction Products.
Upon retirement, he and his wife, Millie, moved to Seven Lakes and built a home on the Beacon Ridge golf course. They continued spending their summers at their log cabin on Lake Abanakee in Indian Lake, N.Y.
Bob’s passion was golf, golf and more golf. As a member of the Beacon Ridge Golf Association, he was the club champion in 1994, 1996 and 1998. Selling real estate at the Property Center for several years was something he also enjoyed.
He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Millie; son Scott, of Albany, N.Y.; daughter Laura Kozloski (Olivier); and grandchildren Jordan and Aleks, of Mansfield, Mass.
Per his wishes, there will be no memorial service.
