James H. Morgan
James H. “Shortblock” Morgan, 74 , died Monday, June 25, 2012, at Pinehurst Health and Rehab, in Pinehurst.
A memorial service was held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 27, at Doubs Chapel United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Archie Stevens officiating.
James was born Aug. 6, 1937, in Robbins. He started working as a mechanic in 1964. In 1990 he started his own business, Morgan’s Auto Repair, with his son John working by his side.
He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Maggie McKenzie Morgan; a daughter, Beth Cylc and husband, Keith, of Sanford; two sons, Scott Morgan and wife, Shannon, of Pittsboro, and John Morgan and wife, Debby, of West End; three grandchildren, Cody, James and Alanda Morgan, sisters, Pearl Dowd and husband, Jimmy, of Carthage, Mildred Spangler and husband, Bobby, of Aberdeen, and Margaret Luck and husband, Billy, of Aberdeen; a brother, J.P. Sturdivant and wife, Peggy, of Robbins; and foster siblings, Pearl Fry, of West End, and Earl Smith, of Kannapolis.
