Ellen Bushby Scott, 64, was called home to be with our Lord Saturday, June 9, 2012, after a sudden illness. She was surrounded by her family, who lifted her off to Jesus.
Ellen was born July 3, 1947, in Southern Pines, to the late William Edward and Jane Morrison Bushby. She was a devoted member of Bunker Hill UMC, where she served as president of the UMW.
Ellen was recognized and awarded for her service as a dedicated nurse for 43 years. She was employed by Evonik Stockhausen Inc.
Ellen was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. Her sweet smile, caring spirit, love and warmth will be forever missed.
Surviving are her ­husband, Joseph “Michael” Scott, of the home; her sons, Peter Scott (wife, Karen) of Clemmons, and Jason Scott (wife, Heather) of Greensboro; her grandchildren, whom she adored, Jacob E. Scott, Jake W. Scott, Julia R. Scott, Chris J. Vestal, Ryan C. Vestal and Sam G. Vestal; one brother, Eddie Bushby (wife, Anne) of Greenville, and their daughter, Michelle; and many cousins, nieces and nephews.
