William Elwood West, 82, of Aberdeen, died Wednesday, June 13, 2012, at Kingswood Nursing Center in Aberdeen.
He was born on August 14, 1929, in Cheraw, S.C., to the late James Fairly West and Beulah Miller West. He was a veteran of his country and served in the United States Army.
He is survived by his loving wife, Melva Brown West, of Aberdeen; a daughter, Billie Sue Clippard and husband, Edward, of West End; two grandchildren, Melody Mills and husband, Charles, and Meagan Severance and husband, Scott, of Knoxville, Tenn.; six great-grandchildren, Tyler Prather, Ashleigh Mills, McKenzie Mills, Charles Mills Jr., Walker Severance and Sydney Severance. He is also survived by several very loved and special nieces and nephews.
A graveside funeral service will be held Sunday, June 17, 2012, at 3 p.m. at Bible Tabernacle Cemetery, Rays Bridge Road, Whispering Pines, NC.
