Lois June King
Lois June King, of Pinehurst, died Thursday, June 14, 2012. Lois was born June 24, 1925, in Jersey City, N.J., to the late William and Helen Warren.
Lois married Vincent King on August 23, 1947. They met at a homecoming dance for World War II servicemen and fell in love immediately. They lived in Jersey City initially, then Plainfield, N.J., and later moved to Southampton, N.Y., where they raised their four children and resided for 45 years until their move to Pinehurst in 1997.
Much more than a loving wife and mother, Lois was a dynamic businesswoman often quoted in The New York Times. Known as a “legend” in the Southampton real estate arena, Lois was a pioneer in breaking open the market with record high real estate values and many firsts in this achievement. For more than two decades, Barclay & King Real Estate was the forerunner in real estate in the Southampton area.
Above all, Lois’ greatest love was her family. She is survived by her husband of 65 years, Vincent F. King; and her four children, one son, Jeffrey W. King, of Pinehurst, and three daughters, Patricia E. King, of Pinehurst, Barbara Estupinan and husband, Bernardo, of New Providence, N.J., Ellen Brown and husband, Billy, of Pinehurst; and four grandchildren, Jennifer King, Natalie King, Cristina Estupinan and Gabriela Estupinan.
Lois is predeceased by her sister, Gloria DeRisi, of Saddlebrook, N.J.
