Doris McNeill Wentland

Doris McNeill Wentland, 79, of Southern Pines, passed Thursday, June 7, 2012.
Mrs. Wentland was born December 19, 1932, in Willow Springs, N.C., to the late Maurice Lee Bowden and Maggie Louise Gargis.
A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, June 11, 2012, at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church in Southern Pines with the Rev. Gregg Newton officiating.
Burial will follow in Pinelawn Memorial Park in Southern Pines.
Mrs. Wentland attended Southern Pines High School. She was a longtime employee of Austin’s Business Supply, Carolina Telephone and a longtime member of the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church. She enjoyed golfing, gardening, her grandchildren and her dog, Bogie.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Malcolm Lewis McNeill, and by husband, George Wentland.
She is survived by three sons, Ronald McNeill and wife, Jean, of Aberdeen, Harold McNeill and wife, Linda, of Pinehurst, Doug McNeill and wife, Debbie, of Southern Pines; a daughter, Denise Smith and husband, Marsh, of Southern Pines; six grandchildren, Ronnie McNeill, Paul McNeill, Allen McNeill, Allison McNeill, Marley Kramer, Madison Kramer; four sisters, Mavis Martin and husband, John, of Aberdeen, Gladys Huntley and husband, Bill, of Florida, Brenda Tyson, of Niagara, and Linda Talbert, of Pinebluff.
A visitation will be held Sunday, June 10, 2012, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made in memory of Doris Wentland to the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church Building Fund, Moore Humane Society or the Alzheimer’s Foundation.
