Paul H. Beck

Paul H. Beck, 85, died Saturday, May 26, 2012.
A memorial service will be held in Springfield, N.J., at a later date.
Mr. Beck was born in Newark, N.J., and lived in Southern Pines for 12 years. He served in the United States Navy during World War II. He was a graduate of Panzer College, East Orange, N.J., and earned a master’s degree from Seton Hall University, South Orange, N.J. He was a track coach and athletic director at Millburn High School, Millburn, N.J., for 30 years until his retirement in 1983.
He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Mary Ann Beck; sons William Beck, of East Glacier, Mont., and Frederick Lambert, of Half Moon Bay, Calif.; a daughter, Susan Cleaver, of Southern Pines; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Mr. Beck was preceded in death by his sister, Iris Gill.
