Clinton Edward Watson, 75, of Cameron, died Monday, June 3, 2012, at his home.
Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Thursday, June 7, at the Full Gospel Assembly Church, in Sanford, with the Rev. Ralph Baker officiating. Burial will follow at Buffalo Church Cemetery, in Sanford. Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday June 6, at Fry and Prickett Funeral Home, in Carthage.
Born April 30, 1937, he was the son of the late William Otis and Ruby Rubeana Watson. Mr. Watson spent his career in carpentry and farming. He loved his family and he loved the Lord.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley Ann Watson; a son, Clinton Edward Watson Jr.; brothers, Jesse Watson and JR Watson; and sisters, Ola Miller, Jackie Faucett and Mary Ruth Watson.
Mr. Watson is survived by daughter Ruby Woodward and husband, Mark, of Cameron; William David Watson, of Cameron; Edward Watson, of Cameron; Terry Watson and Kim, of Carthage; Jerry Watson and wife, Trina, of Carthage; Michael Watson and fiancee, Shelia Brewer, of Sanford; Annette Sykes and husband, Jerry, of Charlotte; daughter Beverly Watson, of Southern Pines; a sister, Dot Brantley, of Lemon Springs; and brothers Ralph, Larry and George Watson, all of Sanford. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
