Geraldine “Jeri” Boles Tamany, of Greenville and Beaufort, passed away Saturday, Jan. 28, 2012, at Cypress Glen, surrounded by her family.
A memorial service will be held at a later date in her hometown of Old Greenwich, Conn., at Saint Catherine’s Chapel, Riverside.
Jeri grew up in Old Greenwich. She and her young family were one of the few who lived at Tod’s Mansion. They then moved to Pennsylvania and to North Carolina with Joe’s career. Later they moved back to Joe’s Greenwich family homestead, which went back many generations.
Mrs. Tamany was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph A. Tamany Jr.; a son, Joseph A. Tamany III; and her parents. She is survived by her daughters, Dena T. Gooding and husband, Craig, of Beaufort, and Bari Tamany Coreil, of Greensboro; grandson, Kerne M. Coreil III, of Greensboro; and many nieces, nephews, grand-nieces and grand-nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that Jeri be remembered by committing a random act of kindness or creating something beautiful in her name.
