Frances Ruth Leach, 98, passed away Saturday, Feb. 25, 2012, in Pinehurst.
A memorial service in celebration of her life will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, March 5, at Fox Hollow Senior Living, and in New Jersey in April.
She was born April 21, 1913, in McBain, Mich. She graduated from Englewood School of Nursing in Englewood, N.J., and married Joseph A. Leach. They raised two children in Tenafly, N.J., where she also served as the school nurse for various elementary schools.
After retiring from nursing she moved to Kemah Lake, in Sussex County, N.J., where she volunteered for hospice and other service-related activities upon her relocation to Seven Lakes. Frances will be remembered as a people person who loved life and caring for others.
She was predeceased by her husband, Joseph A. Leach, in July 1994; her three brothers; and one sister. She is survived by her two children, Charles Leach and his wife, Jane, of Seven Lakes, and Nancy Suglia and her husband, John, of Hilton Head Island, S.C.; four grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and many nephews and nieces.
