Helen T. Waram
Helen Treible Waram, 101, of Penick Village, died Saturday, Feb. 11, 2012.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 16, at Penick Chapel. Interment will be at a later date, at her family's plot in East Stroudsburg, Pa.
Born in East Stroudsburg, she was the daughter of the late Sylvanus L. and Myrtle Treible.
Mrs. Waram graduated from East Stroudsburg University in 1931 with a B.S. degree in education and completed her graduate work at the University of Pennsylvania and Glassboro University in New Jersey. She had a 35-year career as an educator, teaching in East Stroudsburg, and as a teacher and principal at Glenview Elementary School, in Haddon Heights, N.J.
Mrs. Waram moved to Pinehurst with her late husband, Frank C. Waram, in 1988. She was a member of the Southern Pines United Methodist Church, active in Bible study at Pinehurst Trace, a volunteer at FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital for several years, a Masonic post worthy matron, and a member of the Order of the Eastern Star. Her hobbies included needlework, reading, canasta and travel.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, George M. Gernerd, in 1965; and by her second husband, Frank C. Waram, in 1991.
Mrs. Waram is survived by her stepdaughter, Joyce Trasatti and her husband, Vincent Trasatti, of Williamstown, N.J.; three step-grandchildren; and two step-great-grandchildren, all of New Jersey.
