David McKenzie

David McKenzie is now paving the streets of gold at his heavenly home as of Feb. 7, 2012.
Born Sept. 30, 1951, in Pinehurst, to Eugene and Beatrice McKenzie, he was preceded in death by his parents, and a brother, Norman K. McKenzie.
David, a resident of Southern Pines, lived a life of service as a youth group leader, a prison chaplain for 15 years, and served as a field rep for Christian Men’s Network.  He also owned and operated a paving company for 30 years and was a member of the Elks Club.
He leaves behind his wife of eight years, Mae McKenzie; two sisters, Karen Koons, of St. Louis, Mo.. and Barbara Hess, of Pinehurst; and three sons, David Justin with wife, Jessica, and grandson Luke, who reside in Hendersonville, Elliott, who resides in Charlotte, and Michael with wife, Katie, who reside in Columbia, S.C.
The visitation will be held Thursday, Feb. 9, at Boles Funeral Home in Southern Pines from 6 to 8pm. The memorial service will be Friday, Feb. 10, at Brownson Memorial Church in Southern Pines at 2 p.m.
