Edward Junior “Mac” McMillan, 82, answered God’s call Wednesday, Feb. 1, 2012, at FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital, Pinehurst.
Mr. McMillan was born May 5, 1929, in Hoke County, to the late Alexander McMillan and Hattie Mae Campbell McMillan McLaughlin. He was preceded in death by his stepfather, Thomas McLaughlin Sr. and brothers, Thomas McLaughlin Jr. and James McLaughlin.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, Feb. 7, at 2 p.m. at St. Luke Freewill Baptist Church, Ellerbe.
He leaves to cherish his loving memories, his wife of 55 years, Alice Faye Leak McMillan, of the home; daughter, Deborah Faye Marshall (Jackie), of Pinehurst, Raynetta McMillan and Laynetta McMillan, of the home; a son, Edward Kenny McMillan (Ella), of Seven Lakes; two granddaughters, Ebony Marshall, of Charlotte, and Shadee Marshall, of Washington, D.C.; one grandson, Kenneth McMillan, of Charlotte; one stepgrandson, Darren Brand, of Durham; one great-granddaughter, Sanai Graham, of Charlotte; three brothers, Robert McMillan (Willie Mae), of Ellerbe, Johnny McLaughlin (Mamie), of Hamlet, Alexander McLaughlin (Diane), of Rockingham; two stepbrothers, Ray Charles McLaughlin, of Hamlet, and Mark McLaughlin, of Houston, Texas; three sisters, Hattie Fairley, of Ellerbe, Geneva Steele (Edward), of Ellerbe, and Lula Mitchell, of Stanford, Conn.; two sisters-in-law, Hazel Roberson, of Hamlet, and Linda Morrison of Rochester, N.Y
