Bernardette Catherine Foley, 87, of Southern Pines, died Tuesday, Jan. 31, 2012, at her home, surrounded by her family.
A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 4, at the Boles Funeral Home chapel in Southern Pines, with the Rev. Robert Shea officiating. Burial with military honors will follow at Mount Hope Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m. Saturday prior to the service.
Ms. Foley was born July 13, 1924, in Newport, R.I., to the late Edward Bernard Foley and May Cruickshank Foley. She was a World War II Army veteran, having served from 1942 to 1946. She was retired from the U.S. Postal Service after more than 30 years of service.
She is survived by her life partner, Jean Joreski, of Southern Pines; three nieces; and one nephew.
