Wanda Stancik McDevitt, 66, died Thursday, Nov. 29, 2012, at her home.
A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 8, at Glendale Heights United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Glen Stancik and Pastor Adam Brinkley officiating. The family will receive friends following the service at the church.
Mrs. McDevitt was born in Durham County, the daughter of Edwin Edward Stancik, of Seven Lakes, and the late Doris Marie Scoggins Stancik. Prior to her retirement she was employed by the city of Durham.
Mrs. McDevitt was a member of Glendale Heights United Methodist Church, where she was in the choir and a part of the women’s ministry. She also enjoyed volunteering in many other community organizations.
In addition to her father, Mrs. McDevitt is survived by her daughters, Michele Vincent, of Durham, and Mary King, of Raleigh; brothers, Glen Stancik, of Pinehurst, and Kent Stancik, of Shelbyville; and grandchildren, Lukas Vincent, Lindsay King, Ginny Vincent and Olivia King.
