Herman Franklin Morgan Sr., 78, of Pinehurst, passed away Thursday, Oct. 27, 2011, at Pinehurst Health Care and Rehabilitation Center.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 30, at Deep Creek Baptist Church. Interment will be at a later date.
He was born Sept. 30, 1933, to the late Debbie and Robert Morgan. Herman moved to North Carolina in 1984 from Georgia. He proudly served with the U.S. Marine Corps. and was associated with the Pantry and other convenience store chains. He became an ordained minister and served as both a Sunday school teacher and Sunday school superintendent.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brother, Robert H. Morgan. He is survived by two sons, Herman Franklin Morgan Jr. and Edwin M. Morgan, both of Dublin, Ga.; and two daughters, Melissa Toskey, of Moutrie, Ga., and Helen M. Smithson, of Dublin.
