Steven F. Ray

Steven Frank Ray, 48, passed away Monday, Oct. 24, 2011, with his wife, parents and brother at his bedside, following unexpected and catastrophic complications following a routine surgical procedure. He is now in the care and company of his loving Lord.
A celebration of Steve’s life will be held at 6 p.m. Friday, Oct. 28, at Crumpler– Honeycutt Funeral Home, 118 Fayetteville St., Clinton, NC 28328
Steven was born March 22, 1963, in Amarillo Texas, the second son of James Frank (Frank) and Beverly Ann Trawick Ray. He graduated from Richard King High School in Corpus Christi, Texas. Steve attended Texas A&I in Kingsville on a golf scholarship, and received his B.A. from Texas A&M, in Corpus Christi.
Steve and his father owned and operated Tower-Vac Inc. in Corpus Christi. Afterward, Steve was employed by American Airlines until his death.
Steve’s greatest joy was being with his precious sons and his loving wife. His favorite pastimes were hunting and fishing with his sons and his brother, Mark, and his father, Frank.
Steve is survived by his wife, Martha Jo (Marti) Bradshaw Ray and two young sons, Samuel Bradshaw Ray and Jesse Paul Ray, of Turkey, N.C.; parents, Frank and Beverly Ray, of Pinehurst; brother, Mark Weston Ray and wife, Robin Crawford Ray, of Corpus Christi, Texas; and parents-in-law, Paul and Joanne Bradshaw, of Turkey, N.C.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Coastal Conservation Association Texas (CCATexas.com), or the wildlife charity of your choice.
