Ruthia Mae Matthews, 72, of Cameron, died Tuesday, Oct. 25, 2011, at Betsy Johnson Hospital, in Dunn.
A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 29, at the Pugh and Smith Funeral Home chapel, in Carthage. A viewing will be held from 1 to 7 p.m. Friday, Oct. 28, at the funeral home.
She is survived by her children, Gloria Kelly, Carl Matthews, Ladora Keel, Arnetta (Gary) Simon, Velton Matthews, Nelson Matthews and Everette Matthews; three sisters, Edith Huff, Minnie (Clinton) Edwards and Patricia Lovette; two brothers, Robert (Willie Mae) Harrington and James Artis Gilchrist; 27 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
