Malcolm W. Burroughs
Malcolm Winston Burroughs, 70, of Southern Pines, passed away Monday, Oct. 24, 2011.
Mr. Burroughs was born April 27, 1941, to Grace Penny and Robert Clyde Burroughs. He graduated from Wadesboro High School and the UNC School of Pharmacy, where he was a member of Rho Chi Honor Society.
Mr. Burroughs was a much loved pharmacist who truly cared about his patients and used his knowledge and humor to help them. He loved his family and friends and was happiest at home in his garage workshop or working on his Lionel and American Flyer trains and accessories.
Mr. Burroughs is survived by his beloved wife of 48 years, Martha Tucker Burroughs; two sons, John Robert Burroughs, of Southern Pines, and Joseph Tucker Burroughs and wife, Amy Mann, of Charlotte; one sister, Mary Alice Foster, of Charlotte; one brother, Joseph Parker Burroughs, of Maryland; a sister-in-law, Anna Lee Burroughs, of Charlotte; and many nieces and nephews.
Mr. Burroughs was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Robert Clyde Burroughs Jr.
At the request of Mr. Burroughs, there will be no service. He did, however, request that the time that friends and family would have spent at his service be spent with your families and loved ones.
