Effie Jane Smith, 93, of Addor, died Monday, Oct. 24, 2011.
A funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 29, at Elizabeth Chapel Free Will Baptist Church, in Addor, with Elder Carl C. Core officiating. Burial will be in Wayne Cemetery, in Addor. Visitation will be held from 1 to 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 29, prior to the service at the church.
She is survived by her son, Carl J. McRae, of Addor; two grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Language arts teacher Lisa Elliott had her head shaved by hairstylist Nichole Jenkins during an after-school event at Crains Creek Middle School May 3. Elliott promised students she would shave her head if they helped her raise money to participate in the Disney Half Marathon, which raises funds for St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital.
