Josephine Lorraine Blasko, 100, of Southern Pines, passed away Thursday, Oct. 20, 2011.
A memorial Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, Oct. 24, at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church. Graveside services will follow at Mount Hope Cemetery.
She was born Jan. 9, 1911, in Scranton, Pa., to the late Anthony and Catherine Pisarcik. Josephine moved to Southern Pines in 1947 and was an avid churchgoer. She was a member of the St. Anthony’s Woman’s Club and had worked at Mid Pines Resort for many years.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Peter P. Blasko; son, Peter P. “Barry “Blasko Jr.; and 11 brothers and sisters.
She is survived by her two daughters, Rita Mae Taylor, of Southern Pines, and Patricia Floyd and her husband, Pete, of South Carolina; one sister, Tina Hillebrent, of Ruskin, Fla.; eight grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and nine great-great- grandchildren.
