Mildred Mays Deese Quick, 80, died Wednesday, Oct. 19, 2011, at Kingswood Nursing Center.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Oct. 21, at Ashley Heights Baptist Church, with the Rev. Kevin Huff officiating. Burial will be in the Ashley Heights Baptist Church cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
Mrs. Quick was born April 13, 1931, in Surry County, to the late John Brady Mays and America (Anna) Creed Mays. She was a member of Ashley Heights Baptist Church, where she was active with the Senior Adult Group.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 26 years, Floyd Deese; and her husband of 32 years, David A. Quick. She is survived by a daughter, Dawn D. Lee and her husband, Donnie, of Pinehurst; three sons, Dennis Deese and his wife, Carolyn, of Denver, Darry Deese and his wife, Gail, of Aberdeen, and Dean Deese and his wife, Lisa, of Roseland; two brothers, Laverne Mays and his wife, Jean, and Kenneth Mays and his wife, Lib, both of Aberdeen; two sisters, Imogene Cox and her husband, Billy, of Aberdeen, and Vivian Huffman, of Greensboro; nine grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
