PHILLIPS

Cornelia Mae Phillips, 88, of Ararat, Va., passed away Wednesday, Oct. 19, 2011, in Seven Lakes, after a brief illness.
A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, Oct. 21, at the Church of God of Prophecy in Ramseur, with the Rev. Tommy Johnson and the Rev. Tony Conner officiating. Burial will follow at Staley Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday prior to the funeral at the church.
Mrs. Phillips was born March 26, 1923, in Moore County, to the late Jones M. Yarborough and Emma Knight Yarborough.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Lee Phillips Sr.; two sons, Robert Lee Phillips Jr. and William Joseph Phillips; a daughter, Lohonna Phillips Moore; and two grandsons.
She is survived by three daughters, Lawhanna Langley and husband, Clifton, of Ararat, Jerrie Webb and husband, David, of Ararat, and Tina Richardson and husband, Hale, of Seven Lakes; one son, Bobby Ray Phillips and wife, Margie, of Asheboro; two sisters, Mary Smith, of Carthage, and Sarah Smith, of Staley; one brother, Joseph Yarborough, of Hickory; seven grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
