PRESLEY

Charles W. Presley Jr., 66, of Carthage, died Tuesday, Oct. 18, 2011.
Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 20, at Believers Christian Fellowship Church, with Pastors Brent and Phillip Smith officiating. Burial, with military honors, followed in Cross Hill Cemetery. The family received friends at 2 p.m. Thursday prior to the service and other times at the residence of Phillip Smith.
A native of Moore County, he was a son of the late Charles Wade and Beulah Mae Scott Presley. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam War and formerly worked in the heating and air conditioning business.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Harold Wayne Presley; and a sister, Beverly Presley.
He is survived by his wife, Marcia Smith Presley; daughter, Lisa P. Gwynn, of Aberdeen; son, Darrin Presley, of Wilmington; stepchildren Rebecca S. Brown, of Carthage, Rodney Smith, of Cameron, and Brent Smith and Phillip Smith, both of Carthage; sisters Brenda McGlennen, of Carthage, and Debbie Taylor, of Carthage; brother Larry Presley, of Robbins; 11 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
