Burnice Grady Jones, 78, of Pinehurst, died Thursday, Oct. 20, 2011.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 22, at Yates-Thagard Baptist Church, with burial following at Richmond County Memorial Park, in Rockingham. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Oct. 21, at Boles Funeral Home, in Southern Pines.
He was born May 5, 1933, in Asheville. He was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran of the Korean War and, for several years before his retirement, a real estate appraiser in Moore County.
He is survived by his wife, Lynne McNair Jones, of the home; daughter Kimberly Jones Blue (Trip), of Pinebluff; sons William Jeffrey Jones (Lea), of Woodbridge, Va., and Christopher Grant Jones (Cheryl), of Aberdeen; granddaughters Annon McNair Blue and Cara Mahan Blue, of Pinebluff; sisters Emily Davis and Inez Liner, of Asheville; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, Grover Tarply Jones and Irene Mahan Jones; brothers Garthen W. Jones, Clyde A. Jones and Harold D. Jones; and sister Lois J. Roberts.
