BARBER

Henry Thomas “Tom” Barber, 60, of Blowing Rock, died Monday, Oct. 10, 2011, at Carolinas Medical Center, in Charlotte.
Funeral services will be conducted at 3 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 16, at Middle Fork Baptist Church. The family will receive friends from 1:30 to 3 p.m. Sunday, at the church. Burial will follow in the Cool Springs Community Cemetery.
Born in Pinehurst, he was a son of Raymond P. and Doris Colleen McKensie Barber. He retired as superintendent of the water treatment plant in Southern Pines.
He is survived by his wife, Brenda Carlton Barber; two sons, Staff Sgt. Matthew Bradley Bettini and wife, Sharon, of Carthage, and Henry Barber, of Blowing Rock; three grandchildren, Desiree, Victoria and Zachary Bettini; one sister, Helen Hooks and husband, Richard, one sister-in-law, Panda Barber Scarborough and husband, Ronnie, all of Pinehurst; and his father-in-law, Paul Carlton, of Blowing Rock.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Butch, Bill and Richard Barber.
