Donna Kaye Shaw Thomas, 46, of Southern Pines, passed Wednesday, Sept. 28, 2011, at her residence.
Donna was born Nov. 8, 1964, in Harnett County, to the late Terrell Brooks Shaw and Margaret Ellen Hickman Shaw.
A visitation will be held from 5 to 6 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 5, with a celebration of life service beginning at 6 p.m., at Boles Funeral Home in Southern Pines.
Donna’s love for animals knew no bounds. She was a veterinary technician at the Animal Health Center and worked for Drs. Tate and Harrison for 28 years.
She was an avid reader, being a founding member of The Literary Cats Book Club. She loved to cook and could be found on any given day surrounded by open cookbooks.
Donna is survived by her devoted husband of 27 years, Lee Jackson Thomas Jr.; her cats she considered children, Twinkie, Jackson, and Big Boy; a brother, Jeffrey Terrell Shaw and wife, Deborah, of Fayetteville; a sister, Marsha Brooks Shaw Foster and husband, Clifton, of Rocky Point; and two nieces, Ashlyn Brooke Shaw and Morgan Mackenzie Shaw.
