Lieselotte Timmel, 101, of Pinehurst, passed away Saturday, Nov. 26, 2011, at St. Joseph of the Pines.
At the request of Miss Timmel, there will be no services.
“Lisa” was born Feb. 23, 1910, in Plauen, Germany, the youngest daughter of Berta Kraut and Ernst Ludwig Timmel.
Lisa lived and worked in Manhattan, where she modeled for the John Robert Powers Agency and retired after a 45-year career with Time Inc., working in the public relations department of Life magazine. Retiring to Pinehurst in 1973, Lisa was a very competitive tennis player until the age of 93 and won many club championships as a member of the Pinehurst Tennis Club.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her three beloved sisters, Molly, Jenny and Marianna.
