E. Kendra Mann, 88, passed away Sunday, Nov. 27, 2011, at St. Joseph of the Pines.
A visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 1, at Boles Funeral Home, in Southern Pines. All other services will be private.
She was born Oct. 8, 1923, to the late Nelson and Irene Irwin. Her passions included playing bridge at the Douglass Community Center and the Pinehurst Enrichment Center. She lived life by the golden rule and was a loving mother who always put her children first.
She was actively involved in the community and had a love for real estate and later went on to own the Resort Reality Company. She was an avid Braves fan and had a love for the game, and also enjoyed playing golf. She will be greatly missed by her loving family and the community.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Dr. Delamor Wells Mann. She is survived by her son, Drew Mann, of Southern Pines; her daughter, Amanda Von Canon, of Charlotte; one brother, R.J. Irwin, of New York; one sister, Blanche Gathagan, of Falling Timber, Pa.; and her loving niece Diane McCormick.
