Shirley W. Johnson, 76, of Southern Pines, passed Wednesday, Nov. 23, 2011, at the FirstHealth Hospice House, in Pinehurst.
A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 27, at the First Baptist Church of Southern Pines, with the Rev. David Helms officiating. A reception will follow at the church, with burial in Bethesda Cemetery, in Aberdeen.
Mrs. Johnson was born Nov. 21, 1935, in Dillon, S.C., to the late Woodrow and Aver (Hunt) Wallace. She was a devoted wife and homemaker for more than 50 years.
Mrs. Johnson is survived by her husband of 50 years, A.P. Johnson; a daughter, Bronwyn Johnson, of Southern Pines; a brother, Bill Wallace, of Dillon, S.C.; and a grandson, Dylan Johnson, of Southern Pines. She was preceded in death by several brothers and sisters.
