Jeanette Walls, 85, of Southern Pines, died Friday, Nov. 18, 2011, at FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital, in Pinehurst.
Mrs. Walls was born Sept. 25, 1926, in Peoria, Ill., to Marian and Lawrence Kempf. She graduated from the University of Arizona, where she earned a degree in English.
She is survived by her son, David L. Walls, of Fayetteville; her daughters, Catherine W. Ward, of Southern Pines, and Marian Walls, of Atlanta; and grandsons, Will and Sam Brower, of Southern Pines.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Susan G. Komen Foundation.
Boles Funeral Home of Southern Pines is assisting the family.
