Jimmie Hayes Smith, 68, of West End, died Monday, March 28, 2011, at his residence.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, April 1, at Long Leaf A.M.E. Zion Church, in Robbins. Burial will follow in the John Hall Presbyterian Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 7 p.m. Thursday, March 31, at Pugh and Smith Funeral Home, in Carthage.
Dr. Smith is survived by his wife, Rachel Belle Smith; children, Dr. Jimmie H. Smith Jr. (Monique), the Rev. Dr. Jeffrey A. Smith (Mildred), and Twyla S. Sterling (Bryant); and six grandchildren. He was predeceased by a son, Jason F. Smith.
