Elmer H. Hall
Elmer Hall, 77, of Carthage, passed away Sunday, March 27, 2011, at his residence.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, March 31, at Union Presbyterian Church, in Carthage. Interment, with military honors, will follow at the church cemetery.
Mr. Hall was born Jan. 22, 1934, in Clearfield, Ky., to Nannie Myrtle Moore and Emmett James Hall. He retired from the U.S. Army, having served in the Vietnam War, and received the Bronze Star. He was a member of the Moore County Shriners, Union Presbyterian Church, American Legion and Disabled American Veterans of Carthage, VFW Post No. 7318 of Southern Pines, and was a Mason.
He is survived by his sons Harvey Price and wife, Sandie, of Carthage, Robert D. Hall and Delmer Hall, both of Morehead, Ky.; daughter Pam Evans, of Kentucky; brothers George W. Hall and Mack Hall, both of Dayton, Ohio; sisters Beatrice Prince, of Willis, Mich., and Nancy Rose, of Ypsilanti, Mich.; nine grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his wife, Peggy Louise Hall, in 2007.
