John P. Hickey

John Patrick “Jack” Hickey, 81, of Pinehurst, passed away peacefully at his home in Pinehurst, on March 18, 2011.
A funeral mass will be held at Sacred Heart Catholic Church on Tuesday, March 22, 2011, at 11 a.m. with the Rev. James M. Labsky officiating.
Jack was born in Manhattan and retired after 39 years with Kenyon Eckhardt Advertising in New York City and Detroit, Mich. Jack retired to Pinehurst in 1993, and he enjoyed traveling, golf, history and anything related to the military. He was a brilliant, kind and loving friend to so many and he will be greatly missed. He was the son of the late James Joseph and Bridget Nolan Hickey.
He is survived by his wife, Mallory Hickey, best friend and soulmate; nieces and nephews who he loved greatly and who were so supportive of their Uncle Jack as he bravely battled Alzheimers for the past 10 years.
He is also survived by a “family” of dearly loved friends, and he and Mallory thank them for their love and support. We would also like to thank FirstHealth Hospice and Cox Memorial Funeral Home for their compassion.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Jim and Dan Hickey.
