Mother Gertha Mea Kelly Chalmers, 87, of Sanford, passed Tuesday, March 15, 2011, at her home.
A funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. Tuesday, March 22, at Star of Hope Freewill Baptist Church. A wake will be held one hour prior to the service.
Mother Chalmers is survived by three daughters, Joan C. Quick, of the home, Carol C. Deese (Willie), of Dolyestown, Pa., and Shawon C. Melvin (Al), of Wilson; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; one step-great-grandchild; and two sisters, Lillian K. Kanier and Ruby L. Kelly, both of Sanford.
