Williams Thomas "Tommy" Bass
William Thomas “Tommy” Bass, 72, of Carthage, passed away Friday, March 11, 2011, at FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital, in Pinehurst.
Funeral services will be held Monday, March 14, 2011, at 11 a.m. at the Beulah Baptist Church, where he was a member, with Dr. Neal Jackson officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with military honors provided by the Randolph County Honor Guard.
Mr. Bass was a Moore County native, was the son of the late William Clyde and Elizabeth Odom Bass, and was an Air Force veteran. He was a retired truck driver, having worked for Burlington Industries and Epps Transport, and later worked part-time at Lowes Home Improvement in Southern Pines.
Survivors include his wife, Joyce McIntyre Bass, of the home; daughters, Sharon Bass, of Seagrove, Lisa Bass Love and husband, Christopher, of Thomasville; grandchildren, William Kevin Richardson, of Seagrove, Samantha Leigh Martindale, of Robbins, William Alexander Martindale, of Robbins; great-grandchildren, Sara Beth, Britny, Madison and Jeffrey; brothers, Jimmy Bass, of Robbins, Jerry Bass, of Texas; sister, Wanda Russell, of Clemmons.
Visitation is today (Sunday, March 13, 2011), from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at Joyce-Brady Chapel in Bennett.
