Rebecca Ann Gifford, 59, of Southern Pines, died Saturday, March 5, 2011.
She was born Aug. 7, 1951, in Dansville, N.Y., and grew up in Rochester, N.Y. She moved to Southern Pines in 1994.
Beck will be missed by her many friends and family. She was a hard-working member of the Ladies Auxiliary of John Boyd Post 7318 in Southern Pines, where she cooked many Friday night meals.
She is survived by her loving husband of 30 years, Robert Michael Gifford, of Southern Pines; five children, Rachel Schulik and husband, Sam, of Rochester, N.Y., Gretchen and Hodge Griffone, of Pinehurst, Erin Jess and husband, Christopher, of Gainesville, Texas, Michael B. Gifford and wife, Leslie, of Buffalo, N.Y., and Elspeth and John Stern, of Cherry Hill, N.J.; eight grandchildren, Helen and Miriam, Hudson, twins Christopher and Myla, Matthew and Jacob and Alexander; six brothers and sisters, Sandy Gaeta, of Southern Pines, Patricia, of San Diego, Effie, of Lakeville, N.Y., Kenneth, of Rochester, Tracy, of Rochester, William, of Rochester, and many nieces and nephews.
