Robert Elmer Capel Sr., 83, of Candor, died Thursday, Feb. 24, 2011.
A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, March 4, at Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church, in Candor. Burial will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery, Candor. The family will receive friends from 12 to 1 p.m. Friday prior to the service at the church and at other times at the home of Rose Spencer, 110 Maplewood Court, West End.
Mr. Capel served in the U.S. Air Force and the U.S. Army.
He is survived by his daughter, Minnette Riggs, and husband, Leonard; son, Robert Cappell; two grandchildren, Tonya Jarvis and husband, David, and Christopher Riggs; two great-granddaughters, Cayla and Chelsea; sisters Willie Boddy, Thelma Brown and Louise Kelley; and a niece, Rosalyn (“Rose”) Spencer.
